This is our fourth day in Rome. Some general observations:
- Fresh spring water fountains are everywhere which I love! The drawback? They flow constantly. And I asked the tour guide where the water goes and he said the water goes out to the Sea. So much water waste!
- They litter. A Lot. We wake up every day to out street covered in garbage. They just toss their garbage everywhere. It seems to get all cleaned up by mid morning.
- Breakfast food. They eat a lot more sweet stuff than I’m used to. Nothing savoury. All sweet.
- They are all well dressed. Everyone looks put together all the time. So well accessorized. I also haven’t seen this many pairs of leather pants, ever. Also, so many coats draped over shoulders!
- Smoking! The 80’s called – they want their cigarettes back! Every country has a smell. So far Italy smells like cigarette smoke.
- Graffiti. It’s everywhere.
- Tiny cars! Very practical. I’m talking teeny tiny.
