2026 Ecuador, part 2, Galapagos Day 6

January 26, 2026, Day 6 of the Cruise

Today was back to our usual 7am wakeup. The ship was now at full capacity, 32 guests, and a bunch of them were medical personel who had been doing volunteer work in rural Ecuador and this 3-day cruise was their perk at the end. It was convenient for us because some of them were nurses and this was the day that Rich was wiped out. He stayed on the ship while I went on the excursions.

First stop was an easy hike on Genovesa Island where there were A LOT of Frigates and Boobies.

Baby Frigate!
The elusive diurnal owl which we were lucky enough to see
The guide said that someone made a crash landing….
Male Frigate showing off his nest and inviting the girls to come check it out.
It looks so barren, but there are awesome cactus’ there.
This beach was made entirely of dead corals

We did go snorkelling again, but for the first time I didn’t get any good pictures because the water was sort of choppy and cloudy.

Later we met the whole crew. 🙂
